SmartBatch32 is a great
way to easily configure, manage and monitor unattended
processing on Windows 95 and NT systems. SmartBatch32
monitors unattended processes and requires no system operator
to constantly start, stop or monitor the processes.

* NT Service Capability - SmartBatch32
Service ensures that scheduling and notification occur without
the need for any user to be logged
onto the system. An NT Service provides functionality
to extend the capabilities of the system. The
functionality is available to authorized users and persists
regardless of who is logged on locally or
remotely. In fact no user need be logged
on for the service capabilities to exist.

Flexible Scheduling - You can create Schedules to
recur daily, weekly, monthly, again within a day,
run on specific days, or exclude objects from
running on specific days.
* Logical grouping of
related activity - SmartBatch32 allows you to group
related Operations (i.e., tasks) into Steps and Steps
into Jobs. For example you might want to
copy a file, changes some values in the
file and then input that file into a
utility such as ISQL (interactive SQL). This would
be setup as three separate Operations that can
be combined into one Step so that they
are processed together. Any number of Steps can
be added to a Job. The Operations in
a Step and Steps in a Job are
processed in order. Of course the Operations and
Steps can easily be added, deleted, modified or
reordered within the SmartBatch32 Administrator.
* Notification By
e-mail, Alphanumeric Paging or Digital Paging - Operators
can be notified by e-mail (MAPI or SMTP),
Alphanumeric paging (TAP) and Digital paging. Notification can
occur when an Operation has started, completed or
determined to be in error. Any number of
Operators can be notified by using Alert Lists.
