The EPdetect range is the set of scans that are used to detect anti-virus and personal firewall. The products check:

Based on these results the administrator can then determine whether to allow the user in or force them to take remedial action.

Overview:
With the new version 4.x release, EPAFactory EPdetect Enterprise has been re-engineered to run quicker than ever before, so you can now check for more products in less time.
It is now a single scan to check for anti-virus, personal firewalls and anti-spyware products.
Includes real time scan engine (RTSE) for anti-virus products, so you can see that not only is AV installed but that it is actually turned on.
Among a raft of features it now includes:
Low Security Feature - this will allow the scan to pass even if we don't recognise the version of the product, useful when a vendor releases a new product.
Vendor inclusion/exclusion lists - the ability to specify that you only want to accept or reject specific personal security vendors e.g. 'ignore all anti-virus products from Mcafee' or 'only allow people with Trend Micro'.
Automatic scan engine updates - no need to uninstall the EPA scan package from each AAC server, you can simply update the EPdetect Enterprise scan engine with a new release seamlessly.
