DialogMagic is a FileMaker Pro plug-in that allows developers to script data entry and automate button selection within FileMaker's dialogs in ways that FileMaker Pro does not normally make available, enabling you to:

Other Features
- Automate Imports! - Entirely script the import process! You can set the location and name of a file based on field values or a calculation (even rename the old file on-the-fly).
- Set Serial # - Update next starting serial number in a serialized field without requiring entry into Define Fields. This allows a user to change serialized values, for instance, at the time of an upgrade, without having master access.
- Set Export File Name and Location - Dynamically create uniquely named export files from within a script, and specify where you want them located - even create a folder on-the-fly!
- Create Clones and Copies - Set the name and location of clones and copies based on field values.
- Insert Picture - You can automate the process of inserting (importing) pictures by specifying their name and location dynamically as well as specifying whether to store the actual image or just the reference.
- Open Password - Create custom log-in systems and only have to enter one password! Automatically enter FileMaker passwords from a locked.
- Change Password - Change passwords across multiple FileMaker files from a single button.
- Custom User Name - Set the custom user name at startup from the login name field you have created.
- 'Select File' - parameter for Set Destination Folder (as well as for the Set Source Folder command). Returns the file name of a file selected by the user, allowing control of all file management functions.
- Move File and Copy File - Move or copy any file from one location to another, all from within your solution's scripts.
- Open- Launch any application or file (not just FileMaker Pro files) from within your FMP solution. Useful for opening referenced files, such as contact correspondence, spreadsheet reports, etc.
- Enter- Lets your solution type the enter key. This has many possible uses within a script, from accepting a dialog for a user to giving you the ability to resume a paused script from within a script step.
- List Volumes - Returns a list of mounted volumes.
- List Destination Folder - Returns a list of files in the destination folder. Gives you the ability to import all files or insert all pictures contained in a specific folder!
- Get Mouse Up - Enables you to place just one button a layout, yet to branch your script based on where the user clicked. Great for contextual help systems or for position-based data selection.
DialogMagic is available for Windows and for Mac OS 8.x and 9.x and Mac OS X.
