The Wacom Cintiq Interactive Pen Display
is the future of the human/computer interface. It's
a "digital pen and paper" solution that gives
users access to all the benefits of computing
with the natural feel of traditional pen and
paper. In fact, the Wacom Cintiq enables perfect
hand-eye coordination whatever the task, be it drawing,
sketching, illustrating, writing, editing, or navigating. That's something
that just isn't possible with a traditional mouse
or keyboard.
The secret lies in the market-leading
Penabled electromagnetic technology that powers the Cintiq system.
The input device itself is a cordless and
battery-free digital eraser pen that is designed to
be natural to use in either the right
or the left hand. The pen works directly
on the display and is pressure sensitive to
512 levels. That sensitivity enables variables such as
line thickness and saturation to be determined, effectively
providing the control and accuracy of natural-feeling pen
strokes. In addition, the pen's double-side switch can
be programmed with frequently used functions.
The Cintiq
input surface also exemplifies Wacom's obsession with technical
excellence and cutting-edge design. The screen consists of
a sensor field with a conductor grid and
a high resolution, high-contrast TFT display that is
specially coated to provide a paper-like feel. As
the surface will only respond to the pen,
there is no danger of input errors from
accidental contact - unlike other input technologies such
as touch screen. And because the input sensors
are located behind the display, colour brilliance and
contrast are also maintained.
The Cintiq display can
be used with a dynamically adjustable tilt and
rotate stand, or on its own like a
sketchpad. That gives the user unprecedented levels of
flexibility and comfort whilst working.
