Slick Edit is a configurable editor containing all the tools a programmer could need. Save time by working with CUA, E-macs, Briefs, VI or any other editor emulation. Code efficiently with project management, Smartpaste, syntax coloring, auto tabs, macro languages and the build in dialog editor. With Visual SlickEdit coding can be done the way the programmer chooses under the OS of his choice in a single development environment.
Tag-files for C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Clipper, Rexx, Basic, HTML, VBScript, C-Sharp, PHP, etc. help to finish the typing of commands and variables and present alternatives for the problem at hand. The tag-files are dynamic and include not only the standard code of the choosen language but the functions and variables of the current project as well. Furthermore the programmer can adjust the original tag-files as well as build his own. Version control packages like Visual SourceSafe integrate easily into the SlickEdit environment. Grep en Perl-style regular expressions can be used with search and replace. With DiffZilla files, directories and source code structures can be checked for differences, both for whole files as well as for specific symbols or program parts.

The following licensing options are available to you
when purchasing a SlickEdit product.
Named User License
This option is ideal for individuals or development
teams that need full use of the SlickEdit
product for each individual and want the individual
licenses tied to individual users.
Software provided to you
under this option may only be installed on
any computer owned or controlled by you, but
in no event shall the Software be (1)
used by any person other than you and
(2) used on more than one computer at
the same time.
Concurrent User License This option
is ideal for development teams or sites that
want to manage the number of developers using
SlickEdit products but do not want to manage
the individual, named users of the product.
Software
provided under this option may be installed on
and processed by the Server computer located at
a site indicated on the invoice, and may
be installed on and simultaneously processed by the
number of workstation and/or personal computers ("Concurrent Users")
indicated on the invoice, which have electronic access
to the Server computer located at any site
indicated on the invoice and which are accessing
the same data concurrently from more than one
computer up to the predefined limit.
Multi-Platform License
This
option is ideal for multi-platform, heterogeneous development teams
or sites that want to reduce implementation times
and software costs. This option allows installation on
the Server computer or simultaneous use by workstations
and/or personal computers.
This license includes the Windows,
Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris SPARC, Solaris x86,
AIX, HP-UX and IRIX platforms. This license is
available in the Concurrent license format only, and
uses FLEXlm technology for the management of licenses.
Client deployment is only limited by the number
of users purchased. SlickEdit uses FLEXlm technology for
the management of concurrent licenses; a FLEXlm server
is required.
