RedHat heeft een nieuw subscription programma. Belangrijke wijzigingen:

  • Geen Advanced Platform meer - Een server subscription kan uitgebreid worden met add-ons!
  • Virtualisatie - Er kan voor 1, 4 of Unlimited RHEL Guest gekozen worden. Geen restricties op Windows Guests
  • Basic Support is nu Self Support - Self support geeft uitsluitend updates en upgrades en is alleen mogelijk voor servers met 2 sockets
Welke subsctiption heb ik nodig:
  • Stap 1.: Hoe veel CPU sockes zitten in de fysieke machine:
    Mogelijkheden: 2, 4, of 8
  • Stap 2.: Hoe veel Virtuele RHEL Guests per server zijn er nodig?
    Mogelijkheden: 1, 4 of Unlimited. Voor Windows virtuele machines gelden geen restricties - Let wel, hiervoor zijn Windows licenties nodig.
  • Stap 3.: Wat voor onderhoud is er nodig?
    Mogelijkheden: Standard (9 tot 5 op werkdagen) of Premium (24/7). Self Support (alleen updates en upgrades) kan ook, maar is er alleen voor machines met max 2 CPU (= 2 sockets) en slechts 1 virtuele RHEL Guest.
  • Stap 4.: Hoe veel jaar onderhoud?
    Mogelijkheden: 1 of 3 jaar
Met deze informatie kunt u de juiste server subsctiption kiezen. Server Subsctiptions kunnen uitgebreid worden met extra functionaliteit via Add-ons:
