Low bandwidth, latency, network congestion, and packet loss can interfere with an enterprise s ability to quickly and efficiently achieve recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO) goals. Backup and replication operations can be delayed and disrupted due to slow data replication and long queuing times.

Certeon s aCelera Sync software, in conjunction with Dell EqualLogic SANs, enable more efficient and scalable data backup and replication over the WAN. aCelera Sync mitigates the effect of chatty protocols that are often associated with long backup windows by reducing the amount of traffic and round trips going over the WAN. It implements more efficient byte-level data differencing and reduction over the WAN and scales along with the storage capacity of EqualLogic SANs.

aCelera Sync is non-disruptive to existing business continuity applications and enables more frequent backup and replication. With aCelera Sync, enterprises can deploy Dell EqualLogic PS Series SAN solutions and deliver cost-efficient, real-time performance without adding expensive network bandwidth.

Virtualized WAN Optimization aCelera Sync is a virtual machine (VM) that runs on industry-standard servers and is certified to run on the Dell PowerEdge series servers. aCelera Sync is supported on VMware ESX and ESXi as well as Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V hypervisors.

As business needs change, aCelera Sync leverages the scalability features of virtualized environments, allowing for increases in storage, CPUs, and memory, negating the need for forklift upgrades. Multiple VM instances can be provisioned to put backup and replication acceleration where it s needed, simplifying and reducing the overall cost of managing WAN optimization within remote replication sites. aCelera Sync performance can also scale parallel to EqualLogic SANs linear scalability.
