IDdownloader gives you ultimate freedom and flexibility
when it comes to downloading and reorganizing your
images. Store multiple download profiles to support repetitive
tasks such as using different cameras. Define and
store intelligent meta profiles to fill in image
details right from the start. IDdownloader supports over
25 image formats, including JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF,
PSD, PSP, TIF, CRW, CR2, NEF, ORF and
PEF.
Rating and Culling
Judging your images is
easiest if you can view them in the
largest possible way. With the rating and culling
function you can mark your keepers and delete
the images you definitely will not use. Use
the magnifying glass and zoom options to help
you make that decision.
Advanced renaming functions
IDdownloader
takes automatic renaming to the next level. There
are numerous predefined functions to assist you, logically
ordered in groups like image functions, date functions,
technical properties, and so on. Define name of
events like "Christmas 2009" or "Sandra's wedding" so
that you can easily find your images later..
Automatically rotate your images
IDdownloader will automatically rotate
your images if your camera stores this information
and you have enabled this option. To preserve
the highest degree of image integrity, IDimager will
use lossless rotation when rotating JPEG files.
Automatically
backup your images
Your original images are sacred.
IDdownloader can be easily configured to "mirror" your
original images to a backup location as it
downloads; in this way you always have the
option of being able to return to your
original copy. Of course, you can use renaming
rules to define the folder or filename.
Batch
process your images as you download
Do you
always tend to run the same processing steps
on your images? Automate this right from the
start by using the built-in batch processor! The
processing capabilities are virtually unlimited: resizing, sharpening, cropping,
framing, adding a watermark, etc... it is all
possible using the batcher.
Intelligent reusable metadata profiles
One of the greatest strengths of IDimager is
its handling of metadata--the same powerful functionality you
also get with IDdownloader. Through metadata profiles, you
can add initial descriptions to your images while
they are being transferred to your computer. Add
location details, copyright messages, usage rules, your contact
information, etc. at the very start of your
workflow.
And because IDdownloader uses the same profiles as IDimager, you can simply take your profiles with you if you migrate to IDimager.
Advanced
scripting support
If the renaming rules (with over
100 built-in commands) cannot get the job done,
then you can use inline scripting to program
even more advanced renaming rules to support your
workflow! And you are not just limited to
renaming rules. You can also plug in one
or more scripts at any of the following
stages of the import process:
- pre-processing: before the actual download is run
- handler: will run with each image being downloaded
- post-processing: at the very end of the download process
These script handlers allow you to incorporate a wide range of powerful tasks into your workflow.
